What’s a portable lathe
A compact, rugged portable lathe, also called spindle lathe, is for on-site re-turning of small shafts or journals. Since it is difficult or costly to disassemble or replace the spindle, re-machining it on-site is the best solution. While, a good portable lathe can re-machine the spindle surface for new bearings, seals and cuts new threads, all to factory pecifications.
How to operate
First, simply remove the gear or bearing to expose the end of the shaft.
Second, mount it onto the end of the shaft (spindle) needed re-machined.
Third, operate it to complete various machining according to your need.
Essential Features
A qualified portable lathe should be featured with light weight, versatile, precise performance and quick set up. To ensure the strength and reduce the weight, we adopt aluminum alloy main body and turning bar. Automatic axial feed is infinitely variable: 0 – 0.5 mm/rev. The 1.3 kW electric motor and 4:1 gear reduction provide plenty of torque. Adjustable tool head allows quick positioning for accurate turning.
